Before the interpreting meeting we will ask you to provide information about the nature of the meeting and any reference material that might be useful for an interpreter to look through beforehand. •    the interpreter shall be culturally sensitive
•    the interpreters understand the need for punctuality and compliance with any security or other matters when on clients’ premises

Many of our interpreters have undertaken a Criminal Records Bureau check. Please ask us if you need an interpreter who has been CRB checked are members of the National Register of Public Service Interpreters (NRPSI) and therefore are subject to a Code of Professional Conduct.

CONSECUTIVE INTERPRETING

In consecutive interpreting, the interpreter speaks after the source-language speaker has finished speaking. The speech is divided into segments, and the interpreter sits or stands beside the source-language speaker, listening and taking notes as the speaker progresses through the message. When the speaker pauses or finishes speaking, the interpreter then renders the entire message in the target language.
